LES VOITURES D'AVANT 1950
Plusieurs voitures d’avant 1950 de très haut calibre ont fait l’objet de mon attention photographique de par la beauté de leurs courbes.
THE CARS BUILT BEFORE 1950
Several cars of before 1950 of the very high caliber of restoration were the object of my photographic attention because of the beauty of their pretty curves.
Cette Rolls Royce Silver Ghost 1919 du Maharaja Sir Bhupindra Singh fut commandée en 1915 et fut livré en 1919 dû à la 1e guerre mondiale.
Ce fut la 16e Silver Ghost du Maharaja et il l’utilisa pour la chasse aux gibiers volants. La voiture fut en restauration pour une durée de 5 ans.
Elle fut la grande victorieuse de l'évènement en gagnant le prix "Best of Show".
This 1919 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost was commissioned in 1915 by Maharaja Sir Bhupindra Singh and was delivered in 1919 due to World War I.
This was Maharaja's 16th Silver Ghost and he used it for bird hunting. The car was in restoration for a period of 5 years.
The car was the big winner of the Concours by winning the "Best of Show" award.
Cette Bugatti Type 57 1938 est une réplique de la voiture du Sha d’Iran à quelques différences près.
Je dois dire pour avoir vu l’original qui est de couleur noir au salon de l’auto de Montréal autour de 1998, que cette réplique est fabuleuse.
This 1938 Bugatti Type 57 is a replica of the car of the Sha of Iran with some differences.
I must say for having seen the original which is black in the Montreal auto show around 1998, this replica is fabulous.
Cet exemplaire de la Delage D8-120 Cabriolet par Chapron 1937 fut propriété d’un général du gouvernement Vichy durant la 2e guerre mondiale et vedette de cinéma dans le film de Gene Kelly, Un Américain à Paris.
This 1937 Delage D8-120 Cabriolet by Chapron was owned by a Vichy government general during the Second World War. The car made an apparition in Gene Kelly's movie, Un Américain à Paris.
L'Alvis Speed 25 DHC 1938 fut vendu neuve à une jeune dame pour ses 21 ans. Alvis fut aussi fondé en 1919 et faîte aussi ses 100 ans de création cette année.
The 1938 Alvis Speed 25 DHC was sold new to a young lady for her 21 years. Alvis was also founded in 1919 and is also celebrating 100 years of foundation this year.
Le Stout Scarab 1936 fut un de 9 construits, car à $5000, ça ne s’est pas vendu. On considère ce véhicule comme étant le premier SUV de l’histoire.
J’en étais pas à ma première rencontre avec ce modèle que j’ai pu admirer son look bizarre lors du Concours d’Élégance de Meadowbrook, près de Détroit aux environs des années 2000.
The 1936 Stout Scarab was one of 9 built because at $ 5000, it did not sell well. This vehicle is considered to be the first SUV in automotive history.
I was not at my first encounter with this model that I could admire its bizarre look at the Meadowbrook Concours, near Detroit, Michigan around the year 2000.
La Delahaye 175 S Grand Luxe par Chapron 1948 vit l’arrivée sous son capot d’un plus gros moteur dans les années d’après-guerre, ce que Bugatti n’a pas su faire.
The 1948 Delahaye 175 S Grand Luxe by Chapron saw the arrival under its hood of a larger engine in the post-war years, which Bugatti failed to do.

La Pegaso Z-102 Berlinetta Prototype Enasa 1951 fut développé par Wilfrdo Ricart, un espagnol qui fut impliqué en course automobile au sein de la Scudéria Ferrari avant la 2e guerre mondiale.
Les Pegaso furent réputées pour leur rapidité et leur fiabilité.
The 1951 Pegaso Z-102 Berlinetta Prototype Enasa was developed by Wilfredo Ricart, a Spanish who was involved in car racing in Scuderia Ferrari before World War II.
The Pegasos was known for building fast and reliable cars.
L'Alfa Romeo 1900 C SS Zagato 1954 est le coupé familial qui peut gagner des courses, tel fut le slogans utilisé par Alfa Romeo pour en faire la promotion.
Zagato en a profité pour alléger la voiture.
The 1954 Alfa Romeo 1900 C SS Zagato is "The family coupe that can win races". It was the slogan used by Alfa Romeo to promote it.
Zagato took the opportunity to lighten the car.
Cette Jaguar Type D 1955 qui est le premier exemplaire sorti de la ligne de production en 1955, sa première année de production.
This 1955 Jaguar Type D is the first model to come out of the production line in 1955, its first year of production.
La Jaguar Type E FHC 1961, cette voiture est le 15e exemplaire produit qui fut envoyée en Écosse en tant que voiture de presse. Sa couleur est unique à cette voiture.
The 1961 Jaguar Type E FHC, this car is the 15th one produced that was sent to Scotland as a press car. Its color is unique to this car.
La Ferrari 330 GTC Berlinetta 1968 fut dévoilée à l’occasion du salon de Genève. Elle offre puissance et confort luxueux et on dit qu’elle fut la première Ferrari à avoir une radio.
The 1968 Ferrari 330 GTC Berlinetta was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show. It offers power and luxurious comfort and some said to be the first Ferrari to have a radio.
La Lamborghini Miura P400S 1970 fut la 2e évolution de ce modèle mythique avec 20 chevaux de plus sous le capot arrière et quelques retouches esthétiques.
The 1970 Lamborghini Miura P400S was the 2nd evolution of this mythical model with 20 more horsepower under the back cover and some aesthetic retouching.
L'Aston Martin V8 Vantage X-Pack Prototype 1985 cache sous le capot un moteur 5.3-litres d’une puissance de 390 chevaux. Elle fut considérée comme la première « muscle car » de Grande-Bretagne.
The 1985 Aston Martin V8 Vantage X-Pack Prototype hides under the hood a 5.3-liter engine with a power of 390 HP. It was considered the first "muscle car" built by a British carmaker.
La Mclaren F1 1997 sera la première sportive à avoir un châssis en fibre de carbone ce qui lui permettra d’abattre le 0-100 en 3 secondes.
The 1997 Mclaren F1 will be the first sport to have a carbon fiber chassis which will allow it to shoot down the 0-100 in 3 seconds.

Les voitures de course avaient, elles aussi, leurs fières représentantes. Elle furent souvent des pionnières et cobayes dans le développement de modèles pour la route.

Racing cars also had their proud representatives. They were often pioneers and "guinea pigs" in the development of production models for the road.

La Ballot 3/8 LC 1920 deviendra la première voiture de course équipée d’un moteur 8-cylindres en ligne fiable. Elle sera victorieuse au Grand Prix d’Italie. Elle sera construite en 4 exemplaires.
The 1920 Ballot 3/8 LC will become the first race car equipped with a reliable inline 8-cylinder engine. The car will be victorious at the Italian Grand Prix. It will be built in 4 units.
Cette Bugatti Type 37A 1928 fut démonté par son propriétaire allemand en 1945 pour ne pas se la faire saisir et réassemblée durant les années 60. Son état est comme lors de sa dernière course avant la 2e guerre mondiale.
This 1928 Bugatti Type 37A was dismantled by its German owner in 1945 to not be seized and reassembled during the 60s.
Its condition is as in his last race before the World War II.
La Talbo Lago T26 GS 1950 une voiture française qui remporta les 24 heures du Mans, une course française aux mains de pilotes français… "Sacre bleu", s’exprimèrent les Français!
The 1950 Talbo Lago T26 GS a French car that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans, a French race in the hands of French drivers ... "Sacre bleu", the French racing fans expressed themselves!
La Lotus MK VIII 1953 amena le succès au Grand-Prix de Grande Bretagne en 1954 termina devant une Porsche Quad Cam amorçant la légende de Colin Chapman.
The 1953 Lotus MK VIII brought success to the British Grand Prix in 1954, ending up in front of a Porsche Quad Cam, and starts the legend of Colin Chapman.
Cette Fraser Nash Targa Florio 1952 fut présentée à l’occasion du salon de l’auto de Londres la même année.
Elle fut acheter par un américain qui deviendra connu dans le monde de la course automobile, Briggs Cunningham.
This 1952 Fraser Nash Targa Florio was presented at the London Auto Show the same year.
It was bought by an American who will become known in the world of motor racing, Briggs Cunningham.
La Ferrari 500 Mondial 1954 fut achetée par un italien qui compétitionna avec jusqu’en Éthiopie, alors possession italienne. Il y resta jusque durant les années 70.
The 1954 Ferrari 500 Mondial was bought by an Italian competitor with as far as Ethiopia, then Italian possession. He stayed there until the '70s.
Cette Ferrari 250 TR 1956 a été active en compétition d’endurance entre 1956 et 1958 et des pilotes célèbres comme Phil Hill et Maurice Trintignant y ont pris le volant.
This 1956 Ferrari 250 TR was active in endurance competition between 1956 and 1958. Famous drivers like Phil Hill and Maurice Trintignant took the wheel of this Ferrari.
Cette Ford GT40 1966 fut une des 13 voitures de ce modèle engagé lors des 24 heures du Mans en 1966. Elle ne termina pas l’épreuve, due à des problèmes mécaniques

Cette McLaren P1 GTR 2018 commémore les 30 ans du premier championnat d’Ayrton Senna remporté en 1988.
Ce fut le désir du client que de créer cette voiture unique.
This 2018 McLaren P1 GTR commemorates the 30th anniversary of the first Ayrton Senna Championship won in 1988.
It was the customer's desire to create this unique car.
